Benjamin Button Creators Being Sued

The producers and studios behind “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” are being sued by an Italian writer who’s accusing them of stealing her idea. The film starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett is the story of a man who ages backwards and is said to have been inspired by a short story written by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Adriana Pichini, an office worker from Rome, has already taken legal action against the studios claiming that the film is based on a story she wrote 15 years ago called “Il ritorno di Arthur all innocenza”.
Her story was registered with the Italian copyright authorities back in 1994. The Rome Tribunal Court has opened the case and it’s now up to a judge to watch the movie and read Pichini’s story to judge if there are enough similarities to warrant a full court-approved enquiry.
“The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” is nominated for thirteen Oscars at the Academy Awards.
