Penn in Negotiations for Fair Game

Just a day after his Oscar win for his role as Harvey Milk in “Milk”, Sean Penn is now said to be in negotiations to play another real life person in a film called “Fair Game”.

Variety reports that Penn would play the role of Ambassador Joseph Wilson, the husband of Valerie Plame Wilson, a covert CIA agent whose status was revealed causing a federal investigation into Vice President Dick Cheney”s chief of staff, Scooter Libby, who was later convicted.

Naomi Watts has signed on as Valerie Plame Wilson in this Doug Liman (“The Bourne Identity” and “Mr. and Mrs. Smith”) directed film. Penn and Watts previously starred together in “21 Grams” where Watts was nominated for an Oscar for her role.
