Simon Beaufoy, the writer of The Full Monty and the multiple award winning film Slumdog Millionaire, has got himself another project to work on.

Beaufoy has been hired by Spyglass Entertainment to re-write the script for Leap Year, a romantic comedy starring Amy Adams. The film is about a woman (Adams) who travels to Dublin to propose to her boyfriend on February 29.

There is an Irish tradition where women propose to men on the leap day and the man then must say yes.

The trip gets delayed due to weather conditions causing the woman to enlist the help of an Irish innkeeper to propose for her.

The script had originally been written by Harry Elfont and Deb Kaplan. Beaufoy has been nominated for multiple awards including an Oscar and won a Golden Globe for his screenplay for Slumdog Millionaire.
