Emily Blunt as the Black Widow

According to Variety the latest rumour surrounding the upcoming Iron Man sequel is that Emily Blunt (“The Devil Wears Prada” and “Charlie Wilson’s War”) will be playing the role of The Black Widow.

The Black Widow wears a skin-tight black costume that is enhanced by high-tech weaponry and is also known as the Russian spy Natasha Romanoff.

If these rumours are true and Blunt is in for “Iron Man 2″ she will be joining the recently cast Mickey Rourke as Crimson Dynamo and Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer. “Iron Man 2″ is set to begin filming in the spring and has a release date of May 7, 2010.

Blunt can be seen later this year alongside Benicio Del Toro in “The Wolf Man”.
