Johnny Knoxville Detained at Airport for Grenade in Luggage

“Jackass” star Johnny Knoxville was detained at the Los Angeles airport on Thursday for carrying what looked like a hand grenade in his carry-on luggage.

Security spotted the grenade and called the bomb squad who determined it didn’t have a firing pin or any explosive.

The 38 year-old was later released and allowed to board another flight to Miami. Knoxville told the security officers that the fake grenade was a prop he forgot he had in his bag.

Prosecutors will decide whether or not to charge Knoxville with a misdemeanour of bringing a prohibited item into a secure area of the airport.
