Rihanna and Michael Jackson Being Sued

Rihanna and Michael Jackson are both being sued by an African singer named Manu Dibango who claims that the singers stole a hook from one of his songs. He says that parts of his song ‘Soul Makossa’ were used on Jackson’s hit song ‘Wanna Be Startin’’ Somethin’ from his Thriller album.

Jackson has reportedly already settled with Dibango but when Rihanna received permission from Jackson to use the same melody for her song ‘Please Don’t Stop the Music” the issue was revisited; and now Dibango is seeking just over $650,000 in damages.

His lawyers have asked that the record labels not receive any income from the songs until the court has decided on what will happen.
