The Watchmen Legal Battle Reaches a Settlement

A legal battle that began early last year is now over with Warner Bros. and Fox making a deal over “The Watchmen” movie due out in March.

The battle began in February when Fox sued Warner Bros, claiming copyright infringement. The producer of the film, Larry Gordon, didn’t secure the proper rights to “The Watchmen” from Fox before setting it up with Warner Bros.; hence Fox still had the rights to the film.

The two movie studios have reached an agreement with Warner Bros. releasing the film on March 6 as planned. Fox will receive a sizable amount as well receiving a percentage of the box office take home.

Fox will not be a co-distributor nor will it own any of “The Watchmen” property.
