17 Again Takes Top Spot
Los Angeles -The new release “17 Again” starring heartthrob Zac Efron, Leslie Mann, and Matthew Perry took the top spot at the box office this weekend bringing in $24.1 million.
“17 Again” is about a man who, after questioning decisions he made in high school, gets transported back in time to do it all over again.
“State of Play”, a thriller with the star studded cast of Russell Crowe, Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams, Robin Wright Penn, Jeff Daniels, Jason Bateman and Helen Miren took second with $14.1 million in its opening weekend.
In its fourth week, the DreamWorks Animated movie “Monsters vs. Aliens” held onto third adding another $12.9 million to its total which now stands at $162.7 million making it the biggest movie of the year so far.
Taking fourth in its third week was “Fast and Furious” with $12.3 million and rounding out the top five debuting with $6.5 million was “Crank: High Voltage”, a sequel to the 2006 movie “Crank” starring Jason Statham.
