“Up” Can’t be Knocked Down
Disney and Pixar Animation’s latest movie “Up” held onto first at the box office for the second weekend in a row earning another $44.2 million for a 10 day total of just over $137 million.
Two new releases this weekend, “The Hangover” and “Land of the Lost” couldn’t knock down “Up”.
In a close second with $43.3 million was “The Hangover”, a comedy about a bachelor weekend gone wrong when the party goers lose the groom, end up with a baby, and have no memory of the events from the night before.
The Will Ferrell starrer “Land of the Lost” came nowhere near the top two bringing in only $19.5 million in its debut weekend.
In its third week “Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian” starring Ben Stiller and Amy Adams held on in fourth adding $14.7 to its total so far of $127.3 million.
Finally, rounding out the top five with $8.4 million this weekend was “Star Trek”.
