Carrie Prejean Gives Her Side of the Story
Carrie Prejean learned of her ex-Miss California status from the media, a situation she calls “shocking.”
Prejean was fired from her position as Miss California after pageant officials asserted that she has not fulfilled her obligations, refusing to participate in pageant-related appearances. The former beauty queen disagrees. She states that she has met all of her commitments, and feels that her termination is largely due to her voicing her opinion against gay marriage.
She believes that pageant officials have been trying to find a reason to oust her from her position as Miss California since she shared that opinion on national television. But Prejean stands by her beliefs. In her “On the Record” interview with Fox News, Prejean said she felt her views on gay marriage were representative of most of the people in California and the entire United States.
Since her firing, Prejean has threatened to sue the pageant for defamation. It appears that pageant officials are ready for the fight, as reports indicate that they are ready to sue her for supposed “curlish insolent misbehavior.”
