Thursday, 25 Jun 2009

Reports from a hospital in Los Angeles say actress Farrah Fawcett has apparently entered the final stage of her lengthy battle with cancer. Sources say family and friends gathered at her bedside, Wednesday, as a priest was summoned to administer final rites.

According to new blog post by her publicist, Allen S. Miller, fawcett was given her final rites.

“Farrah, is holding on, and has been given last rites. Her vision, dream, and mission was to give people hope to a cure. That is the message of the video SHE wanted aired. I assure you that we will continue and will live on. Fight the Fight,” wote Miller

“I loving Farrah, is in intensive care and is supported by catholic priests consistent with her faith. I have reports that Farrah has received last rights. It is time now to make contact with your god and say a prayer.”

Among those keeping vigil in the intensive care unit include Fawcett’s long time love, actor Ryan O’Neal, her friend and hairdresser of 18 years, Mela Murphy, as well as fellow actress Alana Stewart, considered to be Fawcett’s best friend.

The actress was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2005. Her on going fight to survive the disease was recently chronicled in a documentary broadcast by NBC.

Recently, O’Neal told ABC’s Barbara Walters, that he’d hoped that Fawcett would soon be well enough to leave the hospital following this latest episode, and to marry him.

“Farrah is fighting for her life. But we will wed as soon as she can say yes. Maybe we can just nod her head.”

O’Neal admitted that he never felt the need to marry Fawcett until now.

The couple has one child, a son, 24 year old Redmond O’Neal.
