Robert De Niro in Machete?

Bloody Disgusting is reporting that Michelle Rodriguez (“Fast and Furious”), Jonah Hill (“Superbad”) and Robert De Niro will be starring in “Machete”, a movie from “Grindhouse” director Robert Rodriguez.

A trailer for the movie was shown between the two films in “Grindhouse” and is set for release in 2010.

Danny Trejo will be back in title role with Rodriguez as Luz, Hill as Julio and De Niro as Senator McLaughlin. The story revolves around a Mexican ex-federate (Trejo) who seeks revenge against his former boss (De Niro).

Bloody Disgusting says the information came from a reliable source but nothing has been confirmed by Robert Rodriguez or the actors’ representatives. Filming for “Machete” begins this month in Austin.
