Jon and Kate Plus Eight, New Season Starts Tonight
The summer hiatus is over, and tonight Jon and Kate Plus Eight begins its new season. But what to expect? Now that the couple has officially filed for divorce, it will be anybody’s guess. One thing that is certain, the once famous interview couch will no more. The former couple has opted for chairs, now that they will be no longer be interviewing together.
More questions are still left unanswered. How will the kids handle the separation? Will Jon or Kate date openly on the show? The entire dynamic of the show is about to change, but this is little cause for alarm: TLC will have no problem finding advertisers, or viewers, for one of its highest rated shows.
The show has a contractual obligation for at least 30 more episodes, and Jon and Kate will be filming their scenes separately, for the most part. The kids will remain in the family’s $1.1 million dollar estate, located just outside the town of Reading, PA. The parents will share in the day to day care of the children, each having his or her own scheduled time at the house.
Jon will undoubtedly spend most of his free time away from the children in his posh Manhattan apartment, while Kate is rumored to have purchased a property in Maryland. They will both remain in the tabloids for the foreseeable future, now that the focus of the show will be two parent’s managing sextuplets and twins, separately.
