Erin Andrews Talks Peeping Tom Video
ESPN’s Erin Andrews talks with Oprah
After secret nude video footage of ESPN reporter Erin Andrews circulated on the internet the reporter thought her career had reached its end.
Andrews appeared on the “Oprah Winfrey Show” Friday giving her first interview on the subject. Taped in late Aug., the interview was part on the show’s 24th season premier. The woman was calm when talking of the five minute video and the harassment the paparazzi had shown her since it first appeared in July.
Upon learning of the video from a friend, Andrews thought nothing of it and was confident it was not her. Due to the persistence of him, she watched the video and the first people called were her parents. “I kept screaming: I’m done. My career is over. I’m done. Get it off. Get it off the internet,” she said as she recalled the conversation with her father. “They thought I was physically injured, that’s how bad I was screaming.”
The reporter’s attorney has said that the video was shot without her consent and she plans to file criminal charges and lawsuits against those who shot the footage and those who are posting it. Andrews said, “I do know I am a victim of a stalker, because we know that this happened in at least two hotel rooms.”
This is not Andrews’ first internet appearance. Playboy magazine named her the “sexiest newscaster” for 2008 and 2009. As a sideline reporter, she has covered numerous sports events for ESPN.
