Zombieland Tops the Box Office
“Zombieland”, a comedy starring Woody Harrelson debuted at number one at the box office this weekend earning $25 million.
This film about a two men who survive in a world overrun by zombies is the biggest opening ever for a movie with Woody Harrelson.
Animated comedy “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” dropped from top spot for the last two weeks to second this weekend with $16.7 million.
The re-release of “Toy Story” and “Toy Story 2” as a double feature in 3-D also debuted this weekend and didn’t disappoint bringing in $12.5 million.
Ricky Gervais’ directorial debut “The Invention of Lying” with Jennifer Garner, Rob Lowe, Jonah Hill and Tina Fey and took the fourth spot this weekend grossing $7.4 million. Just behind “The Invention of Lying” was the Bruce Willis starrer “The Surrogates” which added another $7.3 million for a total of $26.4 million.
