Another National Lampoon Vacation in the Works

The Griswolds are about to make their big return.

New Line Cinema is developing a sequel to the 1983 comedy “National Lampoon’s Vacation” starring Chevy Chase and Randy Quaid.

This time the film will revolve around Rusty Griswold, the son of Clark and Ellen Griswold. Rusty will take his family on a vacation of his own. No word on whether the original characters will be back for this sequel.

The original movie made $61 million which led to the sequels “National Lampoon’s European Vacation” in 1985, “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” in 1989, and “National Lampoon’s Vegas Vacation” in 1997.

No script has been written yet for the film but David Dobkin (“Wedding Crashers”) is set to produce and possibly direct the unnamed sequel.
