Ryan Reynolds Taking Over for Tom Cruise in Motorcade

Ryan Reynolds may be taking over for Tom Cruise in “Motorcade”, a project that Cruise had been eying earlier this year.

Jon Cassar, best known for directing and executive producing the TV series “24”, has also taken over from Len Wiseman who was originally set to direct.

“Motorcade” revolves around secret service agent (Reynolds) who is in the wrong place at the right time when the president of the Unites States is kidnapped.

Variety reports that Reynolds hasn’t signed on yet but DreamWorks is eying him for the role and is hoping to get the film started by next fall.

Reynolds will next play the title role in “The Green Lantern” which is set to hit theatres June 17, 2011.
