Thursday, 15 Oct 2009

Director D.J. Caruso (“Disturbia”, “Eagle Eye”) and Chris Pine (“Star Trek”) are both in negotiations with Paramount to sign on for “The Art of Making Money”.

Pine would play the role of Art Williams, a man who was abandoned by his father and left with his mentally ill mother in poverty.

He then moved into a world of theft and violence before he was introduced to counterfeiting. Williams succeeded in his craft producing millions of dollars worth of counterfeit money and was eventually caught by the Secret Service after 14 years.

He is now at the Federal Correctional Institution in Big Spring, Texas.

The movie is based on the novel “The Art of Making Money: The Story of a Master Counterfeiter” written by Jason Kersten. Caruso would direct the film.
