Dennis Hopper Undergoing Treatment For Prostate Cancer
Legendary Hollywood actor and Oscar award winner Dennis Hopper is battling prostate cancer, says The Hollywood Reporter.
His manager, Sam Mayhew, says the actor – who is currently appearing in Season 2 of Crash on Starz and Super Channel – is ungoing a “special program” at the University of Southern California.
“We’re hoping for the best,” said Mayhew about his client’s prognosis.
As a result, Hopper has cancelled all of his travel plans, which included an appearance at an exhibition at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image called “Dennis Hopper and the New Hollywood,” a collection of art and photography done by the Easy Rider star.
“Obviously his health is the No. 1 priority and we wish him a very speedy recovery,” ACMI director Tony Sweeney told the Telegraph.
The news comes after he was rushed to hospital earlier this month, suffering flu-like symptoms during a trip to New York. He was treated for dehydration.
After being forced to cancel a number of interviews and TV appearances as a result of becoming ill, Hopper was released the following day.
