Alec Baldwin & Steve Martin to Co-Host Oscars
The Oscars aren’t set to air until March 7th but producers of the event, Adam Shankman and Bill Mechanic, have chosen their hosts.
Funnymen Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin will co-host the 82nd Annual Academy Awards.
This will be Martin’s third time hosting and Baldwin’s first. “We think the team of Steve and Alec are the perfect pair of hosts for the Oscars,” said Shankman and Mechanic. “Steve will bring the experience of having hosted the show in the past and Alec will be a completely fresh personality for this event.”
The bantering has already begun with Martin saying “I am happy to co-host the Oscars with my enemy Alec Baldwin,” and Baldwin’s response “I don’t play the banjo but I’m thrilled to be hosting the Oscars—it’s the opportunity of a lifetime.”
Both Baldwin, 51, and Martin, 64, have both hosted “Saturday Night Live” many times and are both hilarious so it should be a good show.
