Avatar makes over $500 million at U.S box office

The recent Golden Globe winner “Avatar” crossed the $500 million mark creating a new record time on Monday at the North American Box Office, taking the “title” from Batman sequal The Dark Night.

James Cameron’s Sci-fi was number one in the box office four weekends in a row and has made an estimated 1.5 billion dollars world wide coming just behind his movie Titanic
