Celebrities Get Together For Haiti’s Sake

George Clooney has announced that more then 40 actors will be attending the Hope For Haiti event on January 22.

Clooney said that the telethon is to “show the people of Haiti that the whole world is paying attention.”

Wyclef Jean will be accompanying George Clooney as a host at the benefit that will be shown on many USTV networks.

The Red Cross,Unicef, Oxfam America, Partners in Health and Jean’s Yele Haiti Foundation will be able to benefit from the Hope For Haiti event.

Clooney added that songs from the participating artists will on iTunes and that proceeds will be donated to the relief efforts.

It’s estimated that at least 200,000 people are dead from this 7.0 magnitude earthquake disaster that hit the country, and six days after the earthquake food and supplies have finally reached Port-au-Prince (the capital of haiti)
