American Idol Judges, Enough To Make You Watch?
Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler will join Randy Jackson at the table of judges of the show American Idol next season.
With the announcement on Wednesday, the new team of judges comes after months of speculation about the future of the popular reality show.
Singer and actress Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler lead singer of Aerosmith will have the task of replacing former judges Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul, who was temporarily replaced by Ellen DeGeneres last season.
Steven Tyler says he agreed to participate in the program because it allows him “to be part of something much bigger than (himself).
Jennifer Lopez is “very excited” by his new challenge and says she wants to find “the next Michael Jackson.”
Simon Cowell had announced in January that he would leave the show to focus on a new talent competition, which will be presented to Fox in 2011.
Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi had both announced their departure during the summer. Paula Abdul had left the show after a contract dispute in 2009.
Randy Jackson will therefore remain the only judge who is part of American Idol since its inception.
