Dancing With The Stars Results, Who Got Voted Off?

Wednesday, 22 Sep 2010

Nobody hassles the Hoff and nobody voted for him

In last night’s first live Dancing With the Stars results show, the first celebrity was handed their walking papers from America via Tom Bergeron. The show started out with a performance with Santana. Santana is the man. I had an encounter with the man/myth/legend and it was amazing. The man oozes awesomeness and he did just that on the results show.

The couples with the lowest votes were put on stage to see who was safe and I was praying to baby Jesus that The Situation would find himself in the bottom. Bolton was saved first, followed by Margaret Cho, who was visibly stunned. Well there went my prediction. I would’ve bet a substantial amount of money that she would be voted off first. I never said I was a psychic, people. The Top 4 scoring couples were brought on stage to see if America voted for them. America saved Jennifer Grey and Rick Fox. Finally, the four couples in the middle of the pack were brought out to hear their fates. America saved Audrina and Florence Henderson.

Past contestant Adam Carolla was on the show to talk about the origins of all the ballroom dances. It’s called Google search or Wikipedia. It’s not hard for one to search out that information. I guess ABC has a hard time trying to fill one hour for a live results show. May I suggest them asking Ryan Seacrest?

I’m not surprised The Situation found himself in the bottom six for votes. The audience that watches DWTS definitely isn’t the same audience that is watching him diffuse grenades on Jersey Shore. It also didn’t help that he didn’t fist pump during his first performance. He did this sort of raise the roof/Urkel nerd point thing that was truly horrific. However, I do like this twist on how they are unveiling the results from last night’s vote. Instead of making the entire cast stand on the stage together and sweat under those stage lights, the news in being delivered in smaller groups. It makes for better TV and it also saves having to cart all of them onto the stage after every other commercial break.

Side note: It was nice seeing Joanna Garcia on the show promoting her newest ABC series. It’s good to have her back on TV. She was missed.

The Situation, Kyle Massey, David Hasselhoff, Bristol Palin, Brandy and Kurt Warner all headed to the stage to hear their results. First Brandy was saved and then Bristol Palin. But in true fashion, we must wait till that last possible moment to find out who gets the boot. The whole show has been touting that the elimination will be a shocker. It’s already been a shocker with Margaret Cho being saved. Can we get more shocked than that? Set my face to stunned, The Situation was saved by America. In the end, the Hoff couldn’t scrounge up the votes to stay in the show. Hold the phone, does this mean The Situation has more fans than the Hoff? I don’t want to live in a world where that could be true.
