Michael Douglas Admits He Found Dad ‘Intimidating’

Michael Douglas, who is currently battling throat cancer, said in a recent interview that he found his father Kirk Douglas to be “intimidating” as a child.

The star of current box office hit “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” said that his father made several movies during his career and that he felt “overwhelmed” by the success and stamina his father had in his long Hollywood career.

The elder Douglas was 27 when Michael was born in 1944. Douglas said he called his father “Spartacus” and that he was absorbed with his career. Kirk Douglas has since apologized to his son.

   I love the fact that a woman marries a man, becomes even more famous than before she met that man, has his children and then inherits over $145MM when he dies. There is something really strange and extraordinarily pathetic about that… what goes around… comes around. Good luck.
