Justin Bieber To Host New Punk’d

Will Justin Bieber risk his infamous hair by donning a trucker hat? That’s the first question that arose upon learning that the Canadian pop sensation has been tapped as the new host for a revival of Ashton Kutcher’s Punk’d for MTV.

Kutcher will continue on as executive producer of the new series, Vulture reports, but he will no longer be responsible for pulling pranks on celebrities; he plans on leaving the dirty work for the baby-faced Bieber.

In its initial run, Kutcher — who created the show as well as hosted — Punk’d pulled pranks on numerous A-listers including Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and Katie Holmes. But can Biebs do what Kutcher did so well?

Punk’d ended in 2007, when Kutcher announced he wanted to retire the show. By the end of its run, the hidden-camera concept was played out. But even then, sources at MTV hinted that they hoped to revive the brand.

Fast-forward three years and now there’s a whole new slew of stars to get Punk’d. Some details have yet to be ironed out (like Bieber’s busy schedule), but it looks to be another hit in the making.
