Brett Favre Pics Scandal, Can Aging QB Recover?

Brett Favre may currently hold the spot for the most talked about penis in America right now. Alleged photos of the quarterback’s penis have surfaced, along with some flavorful text messages, voice mails, and Myspace comments that he supposedly sent to former Jets sideline reporter Jenn Sterger back in 2008. All of the tantalizing text and bits surfaced on the Deadspin website last week, reportedly turned over to them by a third party. Although Sterger has not had anything too recent to say about the reported incident, she turned down the advances. Her rejection apparently went unnoticed by Favre, who continued to seek some sort of physical relationship with the former reporter turned hostess.

Sterger has since then referred to Favre as a “creepy douche”, but maintains that she did not release the information to Deadspin. At a Vikings press conference held last week, Favre refused to comment and continues to rebuke the press attention. A second woman, who was also employed by the Jets back in 2008 also came forward, claiming that Favre tried to make the same off-field moves and passes at her as well.

The NFL has since announced that they will be investigating the incident with Sterger, as well as the second report, for any possible incidence of personal misconduct. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has also announced that if he is found having violated any rules of conduct, the suspension would begin immediately after Goodell declared the announcement.

Early in September, a TV reporter made claims that she was bumped, touched, and subjected to physical contact, as well as having had “catcalls” made at her by members of the Jets. Goodell claimed that the coach had responded to incident promptly, but no individual fines or punishments were handed down. Goodell instead implemented a conduct training session that was to be attended by each of the league’s 32 teams.

Just where does the NFL draw the fine line of what is, and what isn’t harassment?
