Kanye West’s ‘Runaway’ Film A Hit Or A Miss?

Only a month ago did the trailer for Kanye West‘s upcoming film short, ‘Runaway’ debuted at the MTV Video Music Awards ceremony. The film was written by Hype Williams and features West as the director.

Two different versions of the film were released, one clean and censored and the other presented exactly as it was written by Williams, who also wrote the script for the smash film ‘Belly’.

The film features model Selita Ebanks as The Phoenix and West as The Hero, if you will. In the film short, The Phoenix falls to earth and strikes a relationship with West, but after facing a myriad of hate and discrimination, is forced to burn herself alive in order to be able to return to her home planet so that she could again be free.

The film features stunning and beautiful cinematography set to West’s music, as well as a cleverly, but barely there costumed Ebanks.
