Fans Rediscover ‘Transformers’ TV Series

As hype begins for the next “Transformers” movie, fans are rediscovering the original series. The animated Transformers TV series aired from September 1984 through November 1987.

The episodes have been repackaged and re-marketed several times since then. Rhino released the episodes on DVD, but some fans have found fault with these. The Rhino episodes are original masters that are not exactly the same as the ones that aired originally. New sound effects were also added.

Shout! Factory has since released a box set of the series which includes original episodes. “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” is out July 1, 2011.
