Charlie Sheen And Brooke Mueller File For Divorce
Sheen and Mueller end two-year marriage
For those who said it wouldn’t last, you were right.
Amid allegations of excessive cocaine use, dalliances with porn stars and trashing hotel rooms (sounds like Guns N’ Roses’ ‘90s concert tours), Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller have filed for divorce.
Access Hollywood delivered the sad — but unsurprising — news, stating the two did the deed on Monday afternoon in Los Angeles Superior Court. The union ends after two rocky years, with Sheen citing irreconcilable differences in papers obtained by the newsmagazine.
The Two and a Half Men star is seeking joint custody of twin sons Bob and Max, who are a year old. Mueller, meanwhile, wants sole physical custody of the boys with visitation granted to their dad.
The duo list Dec. 25, 2009 as the official date of their separation; Sheen was arrested on Christmas Day last year after he was involved in a domestic dispute in their Aspen, Colo., house. It was revealed this past April that Mueller had moved out of their Hollywood home with their two sons.
Sheen is currently on probation after pleading guilty to third-degree assault charges stemming from the Christmas fracas.
The divorce comes just days after Sheen was hospitalized in New York City following an incident where he damaged a hotel room after a night on the town with adult film star Capri Anderson.
The show that continues to employ the troubled actor, Two and a Half Men, airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
