Jackson’s Family Unhappy About “Hold MY Hand” Release

At 12:01 ET on MichaelJackson.com the first official single from the album “Michael” was released. “Hold My Hand”, a duet with singer Akon, was recorded three years ago. The song was chosen by Jackson to be the first single released off the new album, his estate found a hand written note to that affect.

While the song is now available for download, members of the Jackson family have raised protests over its release.

A statement given by a Jackson family attorney, Brian Oxman said “The songs which are being released on the new Michael Jackson album were unfinished and incomplete tracks that Michael said over and over many times he never wanted released.. We should honor Michael Jackson’s wishes.”

Jackson’s nephews have questioned whether or not the voice on the track was their uncles via twitter, saying “Sounding like Michael Jackson and BEING Michael Jackson are two different things.”
