The answer is that the delay may end up only being a one week delay as soon as the problems are fixed, the Ipad Ios Update 4.2 will be made readily available.

The reason the quick reversal of the problems is possible is due to the fact that the bugs in the system are seemingly minor.

As a result, they can be fixed and corrected with relatively little additional problem.

Granted, further bugs may be discovered but this possibility is not anticipated by Apple management or its team of designers and engineers.
