George Clooney Set for Gravity

George Clooney is set to star in “Gravity”, the latest movie from Alfonso Cuaron (“Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban”, “Children of Men”) about a female astronaut struggling to survive in space after a disaster strikes.

Robert Downey Jr. was thought to be taking the lead role but has since backed out of negotiations.

The lead female role has also changed hands several times; first it belonged to Angelina Jolie, Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson but has now landed with Sandra Bullock.

Production for “Gravity” will begin in the spring with a release set for 2012.
