Will “Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark” Ever Be Safe?
Expect the announcement of another in a long series of delays for the opening of the Broadway extravaganza “Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark.”
There has been another on stage accident during previews for the play.
The play which features state of the art choreographed flying sequences has been plagued by accidents since rehearsals and previews started. Many are now wondering if the show has pushed technology to far and simply cannot be performed safely. The accidents however are only the latest chapter in the long and twisted history of this production. The play was first delayed for years when investors ran out of money.
The musical features lyrics byU2′s Bono and The Edge and book by Julie Taymor and Glen Berger famous for their work on the Lion King. The play is hemorrhaging money costing millions of dollars.
The play will most likely end up being delayed for over year from its original opening date of February 18th, 2010.
