Mexican Beauty Axed For Weight Gain
19-year old Mexican beauty Cynthia De La Vega has been stripped of the Miss Mexico title she won last September because of a 6 pound weight gain.
Pageant organizers say they took away De La Vega’s title last month because she does not have any discipline and is not dedicated. Cynthia denies these claims and says it was because of her slight weight gain and nothing else.
In a press conference last week, De La Vega said how she felt deceived and said she was so upset over being axed that she cried.
De la Vega admits that she has gained weight and says she was working with a trainer to get in the shape for the upcoming contest. Cynthia also said she was not aware that she had to maintain a certain weight to be part of the competition.
The 2011 Miss World pageant will take place in London on November 6, 2011 at the Earls Court Exhibition Center.
