A legend in the world of mobsters has died. Henry Hill, the inspiration for the movie, “Goodfellas,” has passed at the age of 69. Hill had been suffering for sometime with a long-term illness.

In the film directed by Martin Scorcese, Ray Liotta played the role of Henry Hill who began his life as a mobster at a young age, starting at the bottom, thrilled by the lifestyle, and becoming more deeply entrenched has he matured.

Eventually, he would become an informant for the FBI. According to Hill’s girlfriend, he was reaching out to family members in recent years, those whose relationship had been damaged, and was making amends for his actions from the early phase in his life.

In addition to film, Hill’s life was the basis of the book, “Wiseguy.” Hill was on the Howard Stern show on several appearances and died in the hospital in Los Angeles.
