Text before crash: an ironic reminder about safety
Texting While Driving Claims Another Victim
Just before a bad car wreck, the following text was sent from Chance Bothe’s phone:
“I need to quit texting, because I could die in a car accident,”
In the minds of many, texting while driving is a significant and growing problem. Strange messages like these that portend catastrophic consequences have become more and more common recently.
In this case, the young man was driving after leaving class early, and he sent this text just before crashing his truck into a ravine. He suffered a number of serious injuries including a skull fracture, a broken neck, and brain damage. These injuries have required six months of rehabilitation.
