The deal has been rumoured for weeks, but now The Hollywood Reporter and E! are reporting that the deal a definite go. Fox, meanwhile, remains mum.

When news that Kara DioGuardi would not be returning next season surfaced, Tyler was one of the rumoured replacements, along with Jennifer Lopez, who according to other reports, has broken off talks with the network.

DioGuardi hasn’t said anything publicly about her reported firing, although her father recently told press that his daughter was broken up about the silent treatment from Fox. According to him, DioGuardi had found out she might not be returning to the series from the news.

Randy Jackson is expected to return, so that leaves one final seat to be filled if the show returns to a three-judge format.

Auditions are already underway for the next season, but since the judges still haven’t been finalized they will have to wait for call backs before performing for them.

American Idol returns this winter.

Steven Tyler officially signs onto ‘Idol’

We might not be able to see Chelsea Handler’s late-night talk show here in Canada, but we’ll definitely be able to catch her when she hosts the MTV Music Video Awards next month.

The Chelsea Lately star has been tapped to host the Sept. 12 show, making her the first woman to host the awards since Roseanne Barr in 1994.

“If there’s one awards show that I should be hosting, it’s probably this one,” Handler to the New York Times yesterday. “My personality probably wouldn’t jell with the Emmys or the Golden Globes.”

That personality didn’t mesh well with TV critics in 2009 when Handler hosted the TCA Awards. She was met with mixed reactions from those who weren’t impressed by her flirtatious Jon Hamm jokes and girlish humour.

Mind you, there are a lot of older, make TV critics.

In addition to hosting her own series, Handler has also released two memoirs, Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea, and Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang.

According to MTV president Stephen K. Friedman, Handler attracts the college audience that the network is overly fond of.

“There is a sweet spot that loves her,” he told the Times.

The show’s lineup still hasn’t been released, but given that Kanye West’s famous outburst over Taylor Swift’s win was only last year at this very same show, it’s probably a safe bet on at least one joke.

Chelsea Handler To Host MTV Music Video Awards

Why aren’t more women eating chocolate every day? Lead researcher Murrray Mittleman, M.D., Dr.P.H., says, “The lack of a protective effect among women eating chocolate every day is probably due to the additional calories gained from eating chocolate instead of more nutritious foods.”

This Swedish study was among the first to research long-term intake of consuming chocolate and how it related to heart failure rates.

Women who consumed higher quality chocolate once or twice a week had a 32% lower heart failure risk, when compared with those who did not, on a regular basis, eat the chocolate. The research team believes that those who consumed the high-quality chocolate every day had no protective benefit because of the added calories acquired - the chocolate might have been substituting more nutritious nutrients.

Interestingly, the higher the cocoa content, the better. The cocoa content of the chocolate ate by the women for this research was approximately 30 percent whereas, in the U.sulphur., dark chocolate is only required to contain 15 percent cocoa solids.

Other Studies have suggested that compounds in chocolate called flavanoids lower blood pressure.

When evaluating the type of beverage, there was a connection between non-light beer and psoriasis. Women who drank at least five beers per week were 1.8 times as likely to get psoriasis compared to women who never consumed alcohol.

The researchers studied information from nearly 83,000 women, who were 27 to 44 years old. The research confirmed that women who drank five beers a week doubled their chance of getting psoriasis. During 2005, the women had reported 1,150 diagnoses. A team of researchers utilized 1,069 of them for research and found that women who reported averaging at least 2.3 beverages per week had a 72 percent better chance of psoriasis than women who did not drink. Yet, they also determined no connection between psoriasis risk and light beer, red wine, white wine or liquor.

Psoriasis is the most prevalent autoimmune disease in the U.S., according to the National Psoriasis Foundation. The National Institutes of Health states that as many as 7.5 million Americans (2.2% of the population) have psoriasis, with 125 million individuals around the globe impacted. It is more prevalent among Caucasians (2.5%) than African Americans (1.3%).

“Women with a high risk of psoriasis may consider avoiding higher intake of non-light beer,” the authors conclude. “We suggest conducting further investigations into the potential mechanisms of non-light beer inducing new-onset psoriasis.”

According to the research, which analyzed 18 to 28-year-old married and live in couples who were in the same relationship for more than a year, men who were entirely dependent on their female spouse’s money were five times more likely to cheat than men who contributed an equal amount of money to the partnership. The research was conducted over a six year period and looked at couples who have been together for at least a year.

Being unfaithful could be a man’s way of reestablishing his gender identity when it is under threat, said Christin Munsch, a sociology PhD candidate at Cornell University who presented the report Monday at the annual American Sociological Association meeting. However tipping the financial scales too far in the other direction does not make men more likely to be faithful.

“This relationship may be particularly strong for certain subgroups of the population that highly value traditional masculinity, like Latino men,” Munsch added.

Munsch insists that each relationship is unique, and unfaithfulness remains a comparatively rare occurrence. cheating wasn’t that common, according to Munsch’s research. In the six-year period of her study, she found that less than 7% of men and less than 3% of women cheated on their partner.

The research viewed the BMI rates among 8.3 million fifth, seventh and ninth-grade students in California from 2001 to 2008. The researchers team discovered that among California public school students in 2008, 38% were overweight, 19.8% were obese and 3.6% were severely obese. To put those numbers in perspective, groups at the 99th BMI percentile, the scientists determined that only Asian youth and Caucasian boys displayed any signs of decline after 2005. The research indicates there will be larger disparities among racial and ethnic groups over time, and because California accounts for 13% of the countries children, the state findings indicate special efforts need to be targeted to the highest-risk groups, said researchers led by Kristine A. Madsen, an assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco.

The powdered milk sold by the Chinese company Synutra, was studied for any signs of hormone levels above regulation but all of the samples passed inspection.

The health ministry’s study found that out of the 73 samples, 42 were from Synutra and it had tested them without discovering any high amounts of hormones. One sample of a milk powder residue was from one of the infant girls’ homes.

A group of Chinese doctors believed that baby girls, ranging in age from four to fifteen months, three from the central city of Wuhan and a fourth in Beijing showed signs of early development, including growth of breasts after drinking infant milk formula made by Synutra International.

Synutra has strongly denied the charges and throughout this whole ordeal it has defended the integrity of their products, and now has threatened legal action against the media for false reporting.

Powdered milk that is tainted with melamine, which is an industrial chemical used in hiding the impact of diluting raw milk with water, had nearly two years ago claimed lives of six babies and sickened 300,000.

The three members went their separate ways in 2003, before reforming in 2006. Benaissa was arrested in 2009 before a concert in Frankfurt.

Their report shows that Norovirus was the most commonly found foodborne agent (39%), followed by Salmonella (27%). Norovirus can be passed when tainted food handlers don’t wash their hands correctly after using the washroom. Salmonella is the name for over 2,500 kinds of bacteria. Salmonella contamination is known to cause disease in humans, animals, and birds (particularly poultry) globally.

Approximately 1,100 outbreaks affecting 21,244 individual illnesses were reported by the information, provided by public health labs in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
