On October 31, 2010 a rally is taking place pressuring Bishop Eddie Long toward resigning.
The scandal involving Bishop Long first began in September of this year when four men came forward stating that they had allegedly been victims of sexual abuse.
Bishop Prophet H. Walker plans to head the rally because he does not feel Bishop Long belongs at the head of the church as a Christian leader.
He strongly believes that he should do the right thing and hand in his resignation.
The rally is going to allow individuals the opportunity to voice their options of the scandal.

WHy should he step down? Is he guilty before proving innocent? He should step down if the facts reveal that he has not been practicing what he is preaching. NOT many have said anything about adultery. Just the mere fact of adultery, being gay, etc…would put him in the place to make that decision. IF those facts are proven, then he should step down. IF we were in the same shoes, and had not been proven anything yet, would we step down? Or want others to plan a rally to step down? Some of these other preachers had better be careful planning rallies. SOme of THEIR DIRT just might come out of the bag. The ditch you dig for someone else just may be for you. I say this SHOULD be an eye opening experience for him and an humbling experience if anything. PRAY for the parties involved, especially his wife, his kids and all those involved and hurt behind this. STEP down–NOT until the REAL facts are revealed. Should those other preachers in his church step down, too? They owned the houses and cars? Were they involved? COme on now. I am on NEITHER side, but want us to think before we act. Many times people react instead of respond. If we respond, more truth will come out among both parties and much faster. I can see him, his private investigator and all parties (including accusers) writing and publishing a book.
He needs to step down until this matter is resolved. I have been following this story closely, what bothers me is that only a few people have mention to pray for those young men that are making those allegations against Eddie Long. I, myself, do believe that he may be gulity. If I was accused of something like that, I would be screaming to the top of my lungs. ” I didn’t do it.” I would have held press conference, after press conference.This rally is needed, and I hope that he does step down.But with his arrogance,he probably won’t. I see many people that are defending him.Those are the one’s that do not have a open mind, and was probably following Eddie the man, not the word of god. Just because he is a pastor and does a lot for the community, does not mean he is exempt for wrong doing. However, I do pray that the lord will give Eddie Long’s strength and the truth be told.Something happened. I also pray that those boys will also find strength thoughout this situation. I know someone that was also in that same situation, and the accuser had a high status and was acting just like Eddie Long. When the dust was clear, that person was found gulity..
