Why Would a Woman Call 911 to Report that She Ate Too Much?

There have been many 911 calls made over the years that were unnecesary and even sometimes resulted in arrests to the callers; however, this one takes the cake! A 45 year-old Florida woman called 911 because she ate too much!

Mary Ellen Lisee called 911 on December 18 reporting that she “ate too much food.” The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Department responded to the call by going to Traveler’s Inn in Fort Pierce. When the authorities arrived at the hotel, Lisee was jumping up and down in her room. A man was leaving her room and told the police that “his girlfriend was too noisy” and that he was leaving because he wanted some sleep.

Not only did the officers find Lisee jumping up and down in her room, but she was yelling to them “Are you surprised? Are you surprised?” The officers asked her why she called 911 and she told them over and over “Because I ate too much food.” Officers smelled alcohol on her breath and she appeared to be drunk. Lisee was arrested and taken to the St. Lucie County Jail. She is charged with misuse of 911 services and disorderly conduct.
