Twilight on Top at Teen Choice Awards
The Teen Choice Awards hosted by the Jonas Brothers aired Monday night and had “Twilight” dominating the show with 11 trophies (surfboards).
The movie about vampire teen romance starring heartthrob Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart took home awards for best drama as well as for male and female leads in a drama, best villain (Cam Gigandet), best kiss and of course Pattinson won for Choice Male Hottie.
He thanked the fans by saying “I really appreciate it. I have to say, the hottest teens of the year are Twilight fans!”
Hugh Jackman took the award for best male in an action for his role as Wolverine.
The best movies went as follows: Best Action/Adventure went to “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”, best Comedy was “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian”, “Friday the 13th” was awarded the honour of best Horror/Thriller while “Marley and Me” won for best Bromantic Comedy and finally the best Chick Flick went to “27 Dresses”.
Notable mentions go to Britney Spears who took home the Ultimate Choice Award.
Miley Cyrus called Spears her hero while presenting her with the award. Britney thanked everyone “Thank you guys so much. I’m so happy to be here tonight with all of you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much. God bless!”
Cyrus also won some 6 awards of her own including best TV comedy and best actress for “Hannah Montana”, along with best music/dance actress and best hissy fit for “Hannah Montana: The Movie”.
The winners of the Teen Choice Awards are selected by the fans and this year over 83 million votes were cast.
