Salt Lake City on Fire

It’s American Idol’s eighth season and Simon is looking for someone good, someone to remember. He may have found that in singer Rose Flack. The seventeen year old lost both her parents within two years of each other and is now pursuing her dreams with the encouragement of her brother and adoptive family. Not did her tie dye dress and dreads make a statement, so did her voice – prompting serious Simon to say she “was one of the few I’ll remember”.
Megan Corkrey came with her own story. And her own voice. Perhaps the most unique – good – style to slip into American Idol’s audition room in the form of an unassuming, sweet 23 year old mother. Her tattoo sleeve, long hair, and pixie like face gave all the judges something to remember along with her jazzy voice.
But that’s not all – Salt Lake City didn’t disappoint viewers. Sixteen year old Taylor Vaifanua came with her big voice and even an Osmond showed up. Twenty-nine year old David Osmond, with his touching story, was “genuine”, but not overly “contemporary”.
The next episode will explore the talent in New York City and Puerto Rico.
