Michael Sheen Cast As Aro In Twilight New Moon

Vancouver- Summit Entertainment has just signed on Michael Sheen for “New Moon”"; the next installment of the Twilight” franchise, currently being filmed in Vancouver.

Sheen is best known for his roles as David Frost in “Frost/Nixon” and Tony Blair in “The Queen”.

This time he will play the character of Aro who’s the leader of the vampire clan called Volturi.

Chris Weitz, director of “New Moon” said he “aggressively pursued” the star and adds “Michael’s role is so important because he’s the head of all vampires. Aro is, on the surface, a very gracious and friendly vampire, but beneath that he is a tremendous threat.”

Dakota Fanning was recently announced as joining the film, also as a member of the Volturi. “New Moon” is set to hit theatres in November.
