American Idol Recap: Hey kara Shut up And Let Simon Talk
Los Angeles – The big question everyone is asking is: Where the heck are the rest of the contestants?
Is it just me or is this competition over already? Last night I was expecting fireworks, explosions and amazing performances, but there were only two that stood out. Not only that, but it was the same two contestants that stand out every week: Allison Iraheta and Adam Lambert. They were phenomenal. They always put their own fabulous spin on their songs and their arrangements are solid. However, this is true every week and I’m wondering if any other idol is even going to try to win this competition.
The word of the night? Boring. Besides our two superstars, the other idols were plain and forgettable. Their song choices were so-so and their stage presence was disappointing.
Another aspect of last night’s show that was disappointing and a bit confusing was the introduction of the week’s mentor, Quentin Tarantino. Last time I checked this guy was a director, not a member of the performance industry. He didn’t do much anyways.
But perhaps what got me the most mad/annoyed was how since Kara and Paula can’t seem to give short critiques, the judges now can only speak two at a time after each performance. I know i’m not the only one who would much rather listen to Simon bash a contestant than listen to Kara ramble on about “commercial this” and “package that”. I can’t see the producers doing that again — we’ll see next week i guess.
Who will go home tonight? Anoop was okay, but he is in over his head. Matt Giraud seems to be having a hard time finding himself in the music. One of these guys will be on the next flight home tonight.

I would KILL for an Adam/Allison final. It’s more likely to be Adam and Hokey, but still, we can hope. Send Lil Rounds home. Seriously, if she isn’t going home tonight, something is wrong with AI voters.
