American Idol Recap

The performance finale Tuesday night between Adam Lambert and Kris Allen was very intense. Adam and Kris are two very different types of singers that have now bonded by admiration and respect. They were singing not to win votes but to win hearts. The show was divided into three rounds for the singers; a favorite of the season chosen by each singer, a song chosen by the creator of the show and lastly a new song by Simon Fuller ‘No Boundaries’.

In round one, Adam sang his version of ‘Mad World’ in a romantic way while Kris sang ‘Ain’t No Sunshine with sweetness and charm.

In round two, Simon Fuller chose the R & B classic ‘A Change is Gonna Come’. Adam performed this with decent mannerisms and excellent vocals. Kris was given the song choice of ‘What’s Goin’ On’. He sang it just as the pop singer he is would but it may not have been the right approach for the song.

Adam and Kris were both given the inspirational ballad ‘No Boundaries’ in the third and final round. Adam sang with strength and passion while Kris seemed to be much more comfortable with the song choice.
