New Johnny Cash album
A posthumous album featuring Johnny Cash is due to hit stores on February 26th, the 78th birthday of Cash. The album ‘American VI: Ain’t No Grave’ is said to feature one of the last songs the country star wrote before his death in 2003.
Several guest appearances will be featured on the album. Contributors are Sheryl Crow, Kris Kristofferson and Bob Dylan. There are several songs on the album that Cash covered such as Tom Paxton’s ‘Can’t Help But Wonder Where I’m Bound’. The album’s producer, Rick Rubin, has put together a series of recordings and claims that this album will be the last installment. One album, ‘American V: A Hundred Highways’ put Cash back at the top of the music charts three years after his death.
Rubin rescued Johnny from a low career in 1994 and their collaborations won six Grammy awards as well as a new fan base. People were thrilled to see Cash work with bands such as Beck and people like Neil Diamond. His biggest success among younger crowds was his song ‘Hurt’ with Nine Inch Nails. The video for this song was also considered Cash’s final farewell.
