Douglas’ son & guilty plea

Michael Douglas’ son Cameron has had plenty of issues with drugs throughout his life. Much of this has been chronicled in the media following his most recent arrest. There are plenty of people out there who are fans of Michael Douglas who never knew that his son had trouble with narcotics. The guilty plea that Cameron attorney entered before the court was another attempt to help the young man get clean and learn how to become a more productive member of society as he sits in a jail cell.

Michael Douglas reportedly posted bail for his son in the past and made a recent appearance in a Manhattan federal court working his way through the process and showing support for Cameron when necessary. Cameron Douglas faces up to ten years in federal prison on drug trafficking charges following the fact that he was arrested for trying to smuggle narcotics in his tooth brush. Cameron is apparently cooperating with authorities in order to bring down the people who sold him the drugs. This federal government is likely to lessen the sentence, the more Cameron chooses to cooperate. Michael Douglas is not likely to see his box office numbers suffer due to this controversy.
