Erin Andrews Update
The crazy story that began as just another celebrity caught naked on tape has blossomed into a full-fledged tabloid affair. The story is filled with intrigue, accusations, sexuality, and the dark side of the internet, keeping the Erin Andrews story in the news 3 weeks after the story first began to break.
ESPN sideline reporter Erin Andrews first made headlines a few weeks back when a hidden camera peephole video shot in two hotel rooms was posted on the internet. ESPN immediately demanded that the video be removed but the old adage of âonce itâs posted on the internet itâs out thereâ was once again proven true. The video was reposted all over the web, despite efforts by ESPN and Andrewsâ attorneys to stop it. The video is also being used as bait by hackers, who are now using it to distribute an assortment of malware.
The New York Post published a series of still images from the video, prompting ESPN to ban all their reporters from all the networks sports shows.
Andrews, always popular among male sports fans, recently made a 911 call due to the paparazzi sheâs been having to deal with since the story exploded into the headlines. Photographers have been gathering at her Atlanta home attempting to get pictures.
This activity from the press prompted the 911 call in which she reportedly said, âI’m treated like “f–king Britney Spearsâ.
There has been an ongoing controversy about the entire matter, beginning with accusation that she knew she was being videotaped to statements that she deserved the treatment after marketing her good looks and sexuality to further her career.
More headlines were made last week when it was revealed that it is suspected that another employee of ESPN could have been behind the peephole video. There has also been speculation that the entire thing is merely a publicity stunt. Erin Andrews had been trying very hard to get a spot on the television show âDancing With the Starsâ. Playboy magazine has described Andrews as âSexiest Sportscasterâ for 2 years in a row and this video isnât likely to end her run.
