Someone didn’t get the message that Lindsay Lohan is broke. She found her place ransacked at 3:00 am Sunday morning. Security cameras shows three men breaking in, TMZ reports.

Bizarrely, the first thing Lindsay did when she found out was to call her estranged dad, Michael, who was last seen shepherding Jon Gosselin down the road to rock bottom. He told TMZ he believes it was an inside job, because the alarm was turned off. “I am not going to put up with individuals violating my family,” he told TMZ. “Lindsay is a charitable, generous person that always gives.” Yup, that’s what Lindsay Lohan is known for.

“The safe was ripped out of the wall, and the door was off the hinges and door handles removed,” Lindsay’s mom Dina told People. “Bags, shoes and jewellery were taken too. Thank God she wasn’t home.” Since the majority of the clothing was probably celebrity freebies or, you know, fur coats she accidentally wore out of a party, returning them to the fashion black market is just the beauty that is the circle of life.

The up side is Lindsay was going to move anyway, so now she has less packing drama to contend with. “Ali and Linds just left me in New York, and left people in charge to pack, as we are moving her to a safer place,” Dina told People. There goes the neighbourhood, whatever neighbourhood it winds up being.

This is Lindsay’s latest interaction with the police in what is turning 2009 into Lindsay’s Year of the Crimespree. Police arrived at her place in May to investigate a suspected burglary, but it turned out her place was just messy. Scotland Yard wanted to talk to her after half-a-million dollars in diamonds went missing from her cover shoot for Elle U.K. But that got filed along with the paternity results for the rumoured secret Lohan sister under “Unsolved Lohan Mysteries.”

And just last week, Lindsay called the police when a deli counter clerk in Little Italy wouldn’t return her BlackBerry because she wouldn’t prove she knew the number. “Who is she? Is she a star?” the clerk later asked the New York Daily News. So I guess Labor Pains wasn’t a big hit among New York’s Italians, or people with lives.
